Our representatives in Harrisburg need to fight for working people. Our community deserves housing, health care, education and investment. We deserve more than politicians that use their power only to benefit themselves.

Cass Green on the Issues

Cass believes that housing is a human right. She will push to expand subsidies, rental relief and eviction protections, increase affordable units, rent-to-own options, support home repair subsidies like the Whole Home Repair Program and fight to end housing discrimination and historic redlining practices.

Safety &amp; Justice Reform

Cass will advocate for immediate full and fair funding for our neighborhood public schools, infrastructure and facility upgrades and increased investment in teachers and staff. She will work to ensure local students can access our world-class higher education institutions and that residents have the training and access they need for careers in the expanding local tech and biotech industries.

Quality Education for All&nbsp;

Cass will initiate roundtables and listening sessions throughout the 10th district to develop a cohesive community-led 10th District vision and plan to build capacity, implement solution-based change, support livable-wage employment, small businesses and entrepreneurship and investment in grassroots agencies.

Community Informed Collaboration &amp; Investment

Cass will not court wealthy donors and won’t take a dime from those who want to privatize our schools and break unions. Cass is an innovator, risk taker, independent thinker and will be responsive&nbsp; to residents of the 10th District and collaborative with elected officials across the commonwealth. Cass is committed to true representation of the people.&nbsp;

‘NO’ To Business As Usual

Cass identifies as an artist and a creative. She knows that thriving means investment not just in the resources that get people fed, clothed and housed, but also in the whole person.Through her work at the Institute of Contemporary Art, she been part of a first hand effort to invest in the arts and culture of the West Philly community. Her work in criminal justice reform and investing in our youth has made it clear how urgent it is for us to give opportunities for creative expression and spiritual fulfillment, and she see a big role for the state in investing resources to continue to foster growth in the arts.&nbsp;&nbsp;

My whole life, I’ve identified as an artist and a creative. Our government must foster the arts for more opportunities for young people to express themselves and thrive.

<h2>About Cass Green</h2>Cass Green is an activist, artist, grassroots organizer and community leader. She’s dedicated her life to building capacity from within, uplifting diverse voices, and building community power across Philadelphia. She co- founded Mill Creek Community Partnership, founded Fine Art Through Our Eyes Community Arts Initiative, led community engagement at People’s Emergency Center, and spearheaded innovation and safety initiatives in Kensington at NKCDC. The last two years she has been working in the District Attorney’s office doing juvenile diversion and restorative justice work along with the DATA Lab and 57 Blocks Project. She is a fighter and committed to representing our 10th district and bringing our voice to Harrisburg to demand access to resources and investment to not only to survive but to thrive!

CASS GREEN ANNOUNCES MAJOR LABOR ENDORSEMENTS

Champion for working families, youth and the West Philly community and neighbors across the Schuylkill Cass Green announced today that she will run for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in the 10th House District, comprising Mantua, Powelton Village, and parts of University City and Logan Square.&nbsp;“The 10th District is an intergenerational and multicultural district experiencing transformation. It’s our elected officials’ responsibility to ensure the existing residents and children benefit and build and create a better today, tomorrow and future for generations to come,” said Green. “Our community deserves the right to build on its current assets while cultivating its potential. Our leaders must prioritize correcting unconstitutional education disparities, supporting criminal justice reform, assisting small businesses, encouraging the arts and innovation, and promoting a vision of folks blossoming where they are planted, and experiencing abundance, not scarcity.
